Hey everyone, a surprise update that was a surprise even to me! I never saw any egg laying take place, but it happened at some point and here is one new eft morph that has just left the water and ready to transition to a terrestrial life. This newt is very tiny, just barely an inch long, so taking care of it will be a bit of a challenge.

The last part of the Eastern Newt Care Guide! This section talks about how we can accomplish breeding! Breeding our newts is very important to the hobby. It decreases the dependency on wild caught newts so that we don't hurt local populations. I strongly encourage any newt and salamander keepers to engage in breeding if possible. As always, do as much research as possible and keep the hobby going!

This guide will have to be split into a few parts due to my 10 minute video limit. This is a care guide on the Eastern Newt (Notophthalmus viridescens viridescens). I'm going into as much detail as possible on housing, feeding, and breeding. The next part of the video will touch on housing for the red eft and wrap up with feeding and breeding. The Eastern newt is my favorite newt, the one that got me hooked on newts and salamanders so I thought it would be appropriate to do my first guide on them.
